Crack Legion prevails

TEAM Crack Legion stayed tough in the final day of action to win the 1st Gov. Gwen Garcia Cup Airsoft Open Championship at the Prime Orion Property of the Mandaue City Reclamation Area last Sunday.

Crack Legion leaned on a strong start when it topped the first five games last Saturday with two points.

The squad kept the momentum going allowing them to pull through in the last 10 games to win the competition with eight points.

While the team’s win was no longer surprising, it was the second and third placers, Special Airsoft Action Team (Saat) and the Guadalupe Airsoft Team (GAT), that gave the event the surprise factor.

Both teams came into the last day of competition near the bottom of the 15-team field.

Saat placed 10th on the first day of competition after being held scoreless. It bounced back in the final day when it scored 7.500 for it to claim the second spot.

GAT’s third place finish was a dramatic one as well as it missed the first runner-up honors by a mere 0.125 point.

GAT started the games last Sunday at the bottom of the pack when it scored negative 0.250. It retaliated in the final day when it accumulated a total of 7.375 points to grab the second runner-up honors.

GAT actually scored the highest in the final day with 7.625 but was pulled down by its negative performance last Saturday.

Also showing a lot of improvement in the final day was Team Tag which rose from 14th place to fourth place with 4.625 points.

WRT placed fifth after posting 3.625 points, while Tango Down dropped from the fourth place to sixth place in the overall tally.

Hammerhead placed 7th, while Globus Petron Alliance dropped to 8th place. Team Pacman and ASB Commando completed the top 10 list.
